Nathan Chaulk

The 2017-2018 Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador ambassador is 16-year- old Nathan Chaulk. Nathan is  sixteen years old and lives in Portugal Cove St Phillips with his Mom, Charlotte, Dad, Marvin, and little brother Samuel. Nathan lives with Cerebral Palsy, but has the can-do attitude and perseverance that is so prevalent among all of our Easter Seals participants. Currently, Nathan is an A student in an academic program at Prince of Wales Collegiate. He intends to pursue a post-secondary education in the area of Adaptive Technology. Nathan already knows the impact that technology has had in his own life when it comes to helping him overcome some of the barriers presented by his disability, and would like to empower other students in his career.

Since coming to Easter Seals at the age of three, Nathan has taken part in many of our programs. Most notably, he credits our overnight camp program with much of his independence and self-confidence today. Camp Bumbleberry was the first time he ever slept independently, and the benefits to both him and his family were immeasurable.  Nathan still enjoys Camp and sees it as a way to connect with his peers independently, and get a well-deserved break from his parents!  Nathan also enjoys taking part in our weekly Boccia program. He looks forward to practice each week with his peers and coaches and relishes the opportunity to showcase his skills as an athlete. His other hobbies include reading, listening to music and spending time with his friends. He is also growing into a passionate advocate for persons with disabilities, and Easter Seals NL is so pleased to have him as Ambassdor this year and help him further his ambitions.
Nathan was installed by the Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable Frank F. Fagan, as Ambassador at a special ceremony at Government House on March 2, 2017.
