Congratulations to all Boccia NL athletes recently recognized with Awards from The Athletic Excellence Fund that recognizes athletic and academic excellence of the province’s top athletes. Supported by the Department of Children, Seniors and Social Development (CSSD) and Sport Newfoundland and Labrador (Sport NL), the AEF includes the Premier’s Athletic Awards, Team Gushue Awards, Elite Athlete Assistance Program, and Sport NL Scholarships.
Premier’s Athletic Award was awarded to Lois Martin and Stephen Westcott in recognition of athletic excellence and provides financial support to help offset costs incurred through training and competition.
Michael Mercer, Hayley Redmond and Kristyn Collins were recognised through the Elite Athlete Assistance program. They were recognized for athletic excellence and received financial support to help offset costs incurred through training and competition for high performance athletes from Newfoundland and Labrador who have been selected to a National Team.
Hayley Redmond received the Sport NL Scholarship that is awarded to qualifying amateur athletes, coaches and or officials to help offset the costs of training and competition.
