Thank You from ‘I Can Too’

As the school year winds down, Easter Seals NL would like to thank all the schools, teachers, and students who participated in the ‘I Can Too!’ disability awareness program! Though we had to change our delivery from in-person to virtual, it was fantastic to connect with students across the province. The positive response from everyone, plus the opportunity to fine-tune the virtual presentation, makes us so excited for next year where we hope to offer both in-person and virtual presentations to continue to reach even more students in Newfoundland and Labrador and across Canada.

‘I Can Too’ as a part of National AccessAbility Week

As part of Easter Seals Canada week of events for National AccessAbility Week, Easter Seals NL was invited to offer ‘I Can Too!’ disability awareness sessions for participants across the country. On Wednesday, June 2 and Thursday, June 3, Rachel Warren presented to students, educators, and colleagues in Newfoundland, Ontario, and Alberta. It was a wonderful opportunity to spread the ‘I Can Too!’ message of inclusion and understanding. A special thanks to the wonderful kindergarten students at St. Anne’s Catholic Academy, School of Virtual Learning in North York, and Mr. Pacheco’s grade 2/3 class at St. Raymond’s Catholic Elementary school in Mississauga for being such active participants in the presentation.

If you are interested in an ‘I Can Too’ session or are interested in volunteering, please contact Rachel Warren (rachel@eastersealsnl.ca) by email or by calling (709) 754-1399 ext. 231.
