We had a wonderful weekend hosting the Provincial Boccia Championships in partnership with Boccia Newfoundland and Labrador.
The competition was strong, with many tight games, and everyone had a great time cheering on their fellow competitors. At the Junior event, our athletes got to demonstrate their skills they have learned throughout the program. We are excited to see a great group of young players developing their Boccia skills through a fun, interactive program! We had a great opportunity to hear from Kristyn Collins, a local National athlete who was also a competitor at the event.
Kristyn, who was introduced to boccia here at Easter Seals, shared her journey of boccia with our athletes, right up to her team’s most recent experience at the Parapan Game, where she took home the Silver Medal. Kristyn and her National Teammates will have another upcoming competition in Portugal, where they will have another chance to secure a spot at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games!
