Red Shirt Day™

Wear Red and Make a Pledge

Red Shirt Day of Action for AccessAbility and Inclusion is a day when people across Canada come together to wear red & make a pledge to create a visible display of solidarity and show their support for people with disabilities and their families, celebrate the achievements of Canadians with disabilities, and pledge their commitment to helping create a fully accessible and inclusive society.

2024 Red Shirt Day Recap

Wow! Thank you to everyone who participated in wearing RED and making your PLEDGE on May 29th in support of Red Shirt Day and Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador!

We were thrilled to see so many people wearing their Red Shirts, showing their support for people with disabilities and their families across the province. This year, we asked our community to create the Red Shirt Day design, and Victoria Lane’s design was selected as the winner. Thank you to everyone who purchased an Easter Seals NL t-shirt. We raised $1,900 in t-shirt sales, and the proceeds will go toward our programs and services!

Red Shirt Day not only helped raise awareness about Easter Seals NL and National Accessibility Week but also resulted in some incredible donations totalling almost $7,000! Thank you to those who donated to Easter Seals NL, including Genoa Design, Molson Coors Beverage Company, and Waterford Valley High School. We are fortunate to have community members like you!

On May 29th, we asked YOU to post pictures on social media and tag Easter Seals NL for a chance to win a gift card. Thank you to all who participated. Our lucky winner is Celia Glover!

Book an “I Can Too” Disability Education Awareness presentation!

Easter Seals NL’s “I Can Too!” Disability Education Awareness Program allows children to learn about disabilities in a fun, interactive way! Through the use of a video, books, and a collection of dolls with adaptive equipment, children learn that disability does not equal inability and that people with a disability are the same as everyone else, they may just do things a little differently. This presentation is free and is available to schools, scouting, guiding groups, after-school programs, and community groups. We advise allowing for 40 minutes for the presentation.
