Horizons Returns In-Person and Online

In January, ten young Canadians started the Horizons Work Experience Program at Easter Seals House. When the province moved back to COVID-19 Alert Level 5 in February, our participants and staff worked quickly and didn’t miss a day in switching to virtual programming.

Adaptability and tech literacy are crucial employment skills in the 21st century, and our participants have them in droves! They took the challenges of this lockdown head on, continuing their eager job search and attending daily skills training workshops and certifications. We’ve since returned to in-person programming with robust pandemic protocols, and our participants are hard at work on the job hunt and in new supportive work placements.

For more information on the Horizons program, please contact Matt Pike (matt@eastersealsnl.ca) or Petra Chaffey-Johnson (petra@eastersealsnl.ca) by email or by calling (709) 754-1399.
