Creative Expressions Music Program

Find New Means of Expression

Easter Seals NL’s Creative Expressions Music Program offers an opportunity for participants to create and share music based on their interests and abilities. This program is designed for individuals to express themselves through music, whether that’s during a private session or within a group session.

Our instructor Elizabeth McNeill, has many years of experience working in the music industry and with people with disabilities. She always brings amazing energy and enthusiasm to our sessions. Miss Julianne will return to teaching in the winter! Until then, she will be missed.

Session descriptions:

Individual sessions are available for those who prefer a private session, during these sessions the participant can set a goal they wish to work towards. Whether it be a specific genre of music they want to sing or an instrument they wish to learn. Some participants simply enjoy the quiet space learning rhythms and melodies.

Individual sessions are 30 minutes at an agreed scheduled time between the participant and instructor.

Group sessions are offered in small group settings. As a group, they learn the fundamentals of music and rhythm. Students often have the opportunity to request songs and can express themselves within the group. Groups are available for adults and youth to enjoy music with peers.

Group sessions are 1 hour at the same scheduled time each week.

Online sessions are now available for participants across Newfoundland and Labrador to allow them to experience the joy of music from the comfort of their homes. These sessions are delivered in both group and individual settings.

Programs that change lives.

  • Making a Difference for Over 80 Years

Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador is a charitable organization that has operated in NL since 1937; it is dedicated to maximizing the abilities and enhancing the lives of people with disabilities.

  • Stories of Success

“When my son was younger he and his friends used to play all the time. As his friends grew up they started to play stand-up sports and he began to feel left out. This all changed when he found Easter Seals. Here he feels included with life-long friends. I can’t describe the pride I feel when I see him laughing at wheelchair basketball.”
