The Easter Seals swim program provides participants with a 30 minute one-on-one volunteer-led swimming session each week that focuses on the individual goals of the participant. These goals can vary anywhere from learning to put your face in the water, building strength in your legs, or practicing swimming in the deep end.
Our volunteers work closely with participants to make sure they are having fun while reaching these swimming goals. Volunteers a part of this program are not all certified instructors, however they are confident swimmers and share the love of water with our participants.
Volunteers and participants are paired based on the goals set by the swimmer, the strength of our volunteers.
Our goal is to provide persons of all ages with physical, cognitive, and any other disabilities with the opportunity to participate in programs and services that aim to build inclusion in Newfoundland and Labrador.LEARN MORE
