Please join us in congratulating and welcoming our 2026 Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador Ambassador, Valerie Byrne.
Valerie is 12 years old and has been part of the Easter Seals family since she was just two.
Living with cerebral palsy has never stopped Valerie from pursuing what she loves. She is an advocate, a performer, and a leader who believes in working hard and always doing her best. Many may already recognize her from Celebrate The Season with Shanneyganock and her Easter Seals NL Friends! Or from local campaigns and speaking engagements supporting organizations such as the Janeway, NLTA, the Atkinson Foundation, Shriners, and the Air Canada Foundation.
Outside of her advocacy work, Valerie enjoys singing in her school choir, taking voice lessons, listening to music, spending time with friends, and dreaming about her future. She hopes to study music one day at Memorial University, maybe become a Dentist, the sky is the limit for Valerie.
We are incredibly proud to have Valerie represent Easter Seals NL this year and cannot wait to see the impact she will make across our province.

Valerie wants to use her year as Ambassador to speak up for others, share her experiences, and help build a more inclusive community. She steps into this role with confidence, determination, and a passion for making sure every voice is heard.
Our goal is to provide people of all ages with physical, cognitive, and any other disabilities with the opportunity to participate in programs and services that aim to build inclusion in Newfoundland and Labrador.
