Noah Randell had been looking to find employment that he was excited about but living in a smaller community, with a disability and adding a pandemic had made that a challenge for him to achieve. As luck should have it, due to the pandemic Cloud River Academy had to change the way they were delivering cafeteria services and the principal of the school thought that Noah, given his interest in food service, would be the perfect person for the job but identified that he would need some mentoring to help him develop the skills and knowledge for the position.
Through Easter Seals NL’s Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities program, Noah was able to avail of a wage subsidy as well as access funding for a short-term job coach. Noah and the school are grateful for the support the Opportunities Fund program was able to provide. With this support, Noah is taking the first steps to sustainable, long-term employment.
