Crystal Thorne, a former Horizons participant, reached out to Easter Seals NL in early December looking for assistance. She was returning to school to receive additional training to help advance her employment prospects but was without a working laptop to complete the course. Through funding available from the Opportunities Fund for People with Disabilities program, Easter Seals NL was able to help purchase Crystal a new laptop and software so she is able to begin her new course with confidence. It was a great delivery to make just before the holidays!
As the community coordinator for the Opportunities Fund program, Easter Seals NL has funding available to assist with the purchase of career related disability supports, professional development, and training as well as wage subsidies to those who identify as having a disability.
