Red Shirt Day® of Action for AccessAbility and Inclusion
Red Shirt Day® is a national day when people across Canada come together to wear red and make a pledge to create a visible display of solidarity in support of people with disabilities and their families. It’s a time to:
Celebrate the achievements of Canadians with disabilities.
Show support for inclusion and accessibility.
Commit to building a fully accessible and inclusive society.
Easter Seals NL is inviting schools across Newfoundland and Labrador to participate in a friendly fundraising contest:
Fundraise online through peer-to-peer donations.
Purchase or sell official Red Shirt Day® shirts in support of the campaign.
Host bake sales or use pledge sheets available from Taylor.
Purchasing an official Easter Seals Red Shirt Day® shirt is optional — students are encouraged to wear any red clothing to participate and feel included.
Our “I Can Too!®” Disability Education Awareness Program helps children learn about disabilities in a fun, interactive way. Using books, videos, and dolls with adaptive equipment, children discover that disability does not equal inability.
Free presentation available to schools, guiding/scouting groups, after-school programs, and community groups.
Recommended time: 40 minutes.
