Sun Life Workplace Readiness Program

The Sun Life Workplace Readiness Program is offering a $2,000 scholarship to two students in Newfoundland who are entering or currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution. Each recipient will also be matched with a volunteer mentor for guidance and workplace preparation.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Resident of Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Living with a disability
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll in a post-secondary education program (university, college, vocational/trades) in Newfoundland and Labrador for the Fall 2024 semester

Application Process:

After submitting the form, you will receive an email requesting the following additional documents:

Required Documentation:

  1. Personal Letter: A typed, one-page letter explaining why you should be selected for the scholarship. Include details about scholastic achievements, motivation, initiative, extracurricular activities, challenges faced and overcome, financial need, or other relevant information.
  2. Verification of Disability: If not a current or previous participant in an Easter Seals program, include a letter from a medical physician, therapist, educator, or social worker verifying your disability. Official diagnosis is not required.
  3. Proof of Enrollment: Documentation confirming current or upcoming enrollment in a post-secondary education program for Fall 2024.

Deadline: Applications and all supporting documents must be received by August 23rd, 2024, at midnight. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Recipients will be announced in August 2024.
