Build Your Skills

Our Build Your Skills Program is tailored for adults who want to strengthen and maintain essential life skills. Through a mix of educational and recreation sessions, participants can explore new activities and develop skills for everyday living.

In the educational sessions, participants will engage in interactive learning and presentations on key topics like goal setting, nutrition, communication, hygiene, safety, finances and more. We also feature guest speakers who will share valuable insights.  

The recreation sessions offer hands-on experiences such as cooking, science experiments, fitness, and arts and crafts. Participants will also have the chance to explore Easter Seals NL programs like Wheelchair Basketball, Boccia, Music, and other engaging activities.

Participants are expected to attend and participate independently or with appropriate support to assist them in engaging in the program. If a participant requires assistance with completing tasks, participating in activities, taking breaks, or with mobility, they are required to attend with an appropriate support person.

Activities are facilitated by ESNL staff, who will provide general guidance and assistance as needed. However, ESNL does not provide direct one-to-one support. Participants who require one-to-one assistance are responsible for arranging and attending with an appropriate support person.

Our 2026 – 2027 Season

Fall Registration Opens on September 2nd, 2026
Fall Dates: October 13, 2026 – December 10, 2026

Winter Registration Opens on December 2nd, 2026
Winter Dates: January 12, 2027 – March 18, 2027

Spring Registration Open March 3, 2027
Spring Dates: April 13, 2027 – June 10, 2027

Session Details

Day: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Location: Easter Seals NL (206 Mount Scio Road)
Time: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with an hour lunch

Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch and snacks.
