Ambassadors

The Easter Seals NL Ambassador is a young person with a disability who, for a one-year term, becomes the face and voice of people with disabilities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. The Ambassador will represent Easter Seals NL and Easter Seals NL participants at a variety of events, fundraisers, and media related activities and other functions. The Easter Seals NL Ambassador is someone who represents the incredible potential and amazing abilities of people with disabilities. They represent the promise of today’s youth becoming tomorrow’s leaders. The Ambassador is an individual between the ages of 8 and 18 who displays self-assurance, comfort communicating in public (including with the media), and intends to pursue post-secondary education.

Along with a scholarship for future education, the ambassador gains tremendous public communications and media relations experience while being given unparalleled opportunities to meet and interact with political corporate, and community leaders. Easter Seals NL Ambassadors are awarded a $2000 scholarship thanks to the Fraser Edison Easter Seals NL Ambassador Trust, founded by Mr. Fraser Edison in 2003. This Trust will fund the award of an annual scholarship to Easter Seals NL Ambassadors in perpetuity.

The Fraser Edison Easter Seals Ambassador Trust (FEESAT)

The Fraser Edison Easter Seals Ambassador Trust (FEESAT) was established by Fraser Edison in 2003 and provides a $2,000 educational scholarship to Easter Seals Ambassadors. FEESAT celebrates the unwavering determination, positive attitude and future promise of children with physical disabilities.

Fraser Edison has been a long time champion and ambassador for the children of Easter Seals in Newfoundland and Labrador. Diagnosed with polio at the age of two and growing up during a time when a disability was often equated with inability, Fraser’s strength of character and level of success provides valuable inspiration and motivation to children with disabilities.
